Q.
I keep getting sour fluid in my mouth, especially at night or when I bend down; what could it be?
A. This is due to acid reflux from stomach in to food pipe. When you lie down or bend down due to elimination of gravity or increased intra abdominal pressure, fluid from stomach, which is mainly acid, regurgitates in food pipe.

Q.
I have heart burn, what could it be?
A. Heart burn is generally due to acid reflux from stomach in to food pipe. This acid, if it remains in contact of the skin of food pipe produces heart burn. Occasionally certain chemicals in chillies also stimulate nerve endings in food pipe and in such cases you get heartburn without acid reflux.
